MY 87 300TD WITH 259K MILES,HAD THE ENGINE REBUILT AT 219K.THE ELECTRICAL DID NOT FUNCTION AND A HOT ENGINE WITH BLOWN HEAD GASKETT RESULTED.I HAVE HEARD THAT THIS MODEL IS FAMOUS FOR SUCH? I AM CONSIDERING INSTALLING A CUSTOM ALL METAL COPPER HEAD GASKETT HAS ANYONE HAD GOOD LUCK WITH OTHER THAN A FACTORY SEAL?I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I COULD HAVE CAM LOBE WEAR AND NEED TO REPLACE THE CAM ? HEAD WILL BE TAKEN TO A GOOD MACHINE SHOP FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR.ARE THE MB DIESEL ALUMINUM HEADS DIFFICULT TO REPAIR?
