Hi i own a C220 , year 2008. 2.2 diesel auto.

lately i have been have overheating issues, this only happens when at a stand still in traffic etc.... it gets up to 100 so far, but goes back down when driving.
I still have full heating, working air con. I have had new coolant replaced and no air locks in the system, no smoke from the exhaust or any signs of a head gasket issue.
I am unsure if the fan kicks in as i have not been able to hear it but no blown fuses.

Does anyone have any ideas where to start or what to purchase to fix

Many thanks in advance

Nidge.

Sounds very much like fan not kicking in. Is it electric or viscous? Needs looking at for sure. Fan should cut in around 95°

Do check the fan and go from there. Its variably duty cycle so you won't hear it usually. Observe it directly.

If no movement its likely the fan controller or the motor itself.

I was thinking that a fan not cutting in wouldn't let the temp creep up that high , unless its a very hot country ??

No, they will easily overheat when stationary without a fan
