OVP Relay

Evening all.

I have a 190e which refused to start. Would catch but immediately cut out.

Replace the Fuel Relay and now it starts, runs, revs, but are around 30 seconds stalls.

I note lots of these types of problems are related to the OVP relay and the fuse on it.

So, my questions. If the fuel relay blew, would it have impacted that OVP relay?

Where is the OVP relay. I can't fine it. Behind the battery I see the fuel relay and other eletrics but no relay. The car is a 1993. Could the relay be by the fuse box?

Thanks all - may go for an S-class but don't want to give up on this car yet.

If the OVP relay had gone you would have the ABS lamps on if the car is fitted with ABS

ABS light has been on since I bought the car (last October). Will it be the relay or just the fuse?

Looking back from the front of the battery the o.v.p. relay is to the left of the battery .It may be secured by a srew, easier to remove battery first.I think fuse is 10A.

Is the relay you fitted the one with approx 10 round pins,?
Was the cutting out symptom there at any time before you fitted that relay?
Does it start and cut out, but if you try enough times it will eventually stay going?

If the answers above are yes, no, yes, then I would think you have sourced a faulty relay. Change it for another one.
The starting then cutting out symptom is quite common and is often (usually) caused by that same relay.
