Hi All.
A few months ago, whilst driving at 70mph, I had a bird poo on the windscreen, driving and trying not to take my eyes off the road, I mistakenly pressed the gear selector thinking that it was the wiper. As soon as I realised my mistake, I switched it back to drive. Whilst all this happened an engine warning light appeared on the dashboard at the time.
I didn't think anything of it, as I thought the car didn't show any signs or faults and felt it would reset itself. Three months on, the engine management light is still present, so I got myself an icarsoft pro to read the error and clear it, the tool reads the error and clears it, however the error comes straight back in fact, it doesn't go away from the dashboard cluster.
There are 2 errors but both appear to be the same.
Recently, the mpg has been very poor. I didn't think anything of it as my driving pattern has changed tremendously, no long distance driving. Just the off local school run and that's it. The car uses Adblue, it also had a software update done in March or April, I don't know the details of the update, but it was done by an indy Merc specialist.
