Paint Code for W210 Elegance Trim Parts

Does anyone know if there is a paint code for the standard metallic grey/dark silver plastic trims on the bumpers and doors of the 99-02 W210 elegance models?

In the past I've just bought new bumper corners and stuck them on, but the Mercedes price has gone up from around £40 to £112 for no apparent reason.

Hi, the car is Brilliant Silver (744). The trims pieces are not body colour as on the Avant Garde, but slightly grey.

Thanks.

If these parts are not metalic, then they are unpainted i think

I think they're painted. If you take one off they're normally white on the inside and underneath when scuffed.

It might not be possible to get a paint code, but with Lexus, for example, you can get the paint code if the dealership are feeling helpful and will give you one of the workshop bulletins that give the codes.

Sorry for not replying earlier ..according to my records there are two paints that were in use for the mouldings on your car,, code 177 stratos grey or 181 atlas grey but I think your dealer should be able to give you the correct paint code from the chassis no..as you say the mouldings come already painted..but they can raise the code and the colour

That's very helpful - thank you. I'll go to my dealer.

Having looked online I'd say it appears to be 181 - atlas grey.

where did you look online? I need to paint mine too after a scuff.

Also how easy is it to remove the trim?

If we are talking about the strips that run along the side of the car, on the doors there is a small screw at one end, just remove the screw and the strip slids off sideways, they are keyhole slots, sideways on.

The trim in question is the one at the front bumper corners. My W210 is an elegance model and so they are coloured in a grey whereas the rest of teh car is in silver.

I got the paint made up today. There are a few 181 codes, so it's worth knowing whether your's is 6181, 7181, or whatever.

The bumper corners just push and kind of slot in towards the centre of the car. I would use something that won't mark the paint to prise them out at the joints with the centre section, then just pull them out. It's worth doing to save the hassle of having to mask up the car when you paint them.

I know this is an old thread but can anyone please tell me how to find which grey for bumper trim matches brilliant silver 744 on my 2001 W210 E240 elegance without having to resort to the dealer. I need to do them due to bad scuffing from the last owner and can anyone please tell me if they are easily removeable from the bumper itself
Many thanks
