Paint flaking off

I have a 2013, W212, E250 with paint flaking off the front spoiler. Can anybody offer advice please.

It's not Fire Opal Red is it Billy ?

AJD, no it’s Iridium Silver. It’s only in one area.

I can only think it has been re-painted at some stage in it's life and not been done very well. It's not been a known problem with Iridium Silver.

I bought the car four years ago, 3 years old from Mercedes Coldstream as ‘approved used’. One previous owner, full Merc service history. Disappointed with this really.

Is that just the Lacquer Billy ? I wonder whether has got under the Lacquer as there looks like a fair few chips to it

It is both lacquer and paint AJD, yes a few stone or road salt chips but to be expected on a low spoiler. The drivers side is fine.

Possibly it's been "touched up" by the dealer or previous owner for sale purposes

I had this with my S211, just chips that have been previously resprayed at some point in its lift, I had the front and rear bumper re done for about £300 rather than try to just repair that small area

The lacquer on my car has done this - the paint underneath seems fine. I've owned it since nearly new and I don't think it was repainted before I got it as it did have a couple of stone chips. It just suddenly went a few years ago and popped all over the bumper - I wonder if maybe it froze when it was wet or something?

I'd get it repainted but the quotes I got vs the car value don't seem worth it.

The bumper has not been prepped properly, possibly after a repair. It will need a respray in that section to resolve.

Mine has similar. Also approved used. Suspect a smart repair done prior to buying it which was done on the forecourt by an 'expert under a gazebo!
