Panoramic roof/blind not opening?

My first question about my recent purchase. It is an E350 W212 (c207) Unfortunately the roof or blind does not open (it just clicks) I understand there are a couple of ‘fixes’ that may reset the roof. If anyone could assist I would be most grateful as the handbook is not very helpful.

try holding it in the open position for 10 seconds, and then release, do the same for the close position, does that help

I've managed to open the inside and close it manually, did Mercedes not tell you what the issue is?
