I spoke to Mercedes customer service with regards to the operation of the panoramic roof.
You can open and close it at speeds up to 30mph 50kph.
Once open no speed restrictions.
I asked this question as mine went out of adjustment and needed a visit to Mercedes to be put right, fortunately under warranty.
I hope this is helpful.

Pretty unimpressive, my Range Rover had no speed restrictions at all on the pana roof and I can even open the entire hard top on my SL upto that speed.....!

No restrictions on the smart either. I can slide it back and fully drop the back at any speed

I wouldn’t open or close my Pan Roof at any speed , this could be the reason it goes out of alignment?
Don’t know for certain, just a thought.

Am I missing something here, isn't a panroof the same as a very large sunroof, like I had in my MGB GT in the 70s (see pic)?

If so then why can't you use it in the same way as a sunroof?

No, this is a new one on me as well.

No limit in any manuals I have regarding speeds for operation. The only time it mentions speed is that the roof will automatically lower at higher speeds and raise again once the car slows down.

I'll also admit to using mine at speeds considerably higher than 30mph, in fact probably double it and to no ill effect on the last few cars I've owned with this feature.

The only time I've seen speeds mentioned is when raising/lowering a convertible roof, certainly not a sun roof...
