Panoramic roof rain sensor

Hi all
sold my C220 2011 facelift and got my self a 2017 66 plate E220d AMG premium plus estate with panoramic roof if i left the roof open while parked up and it starts rainning will the roof automatically close or will i come back to a soggy seat

A soggy seat and also the possibility of bird **** because they specifically target these things.
Seriously though, together with the security risk I would never leave my car parked with the roof open.

A friend of mine went to Germany on business in the early 70's, hired a car with a sun roof. Hot sunny day but a thunderstorm overnight. A very wet car on return & a surcharge.

It should close automatically but it may be model specific so check your manual. I was sat in my GLC with the roof open last summer, having a sandwich, and it started to spot with rain so I waited to see what would happen and the roof closed itself around 30 seconds later.

my R Class had a pan roof ... that stayed open if it rained.

I wouldn't risk it whether it said it will close or not in the manual. Like Ron I would not walk away and leave the Sun Roof open anyway. Particularly as it is Sea Gull poo season here now they are out there mating.

It does... and it is.

It does... and it is.

So it will only shut when a raindrop makes it the windscreen sensor!

Mine shut whilst I was wiping the windscreen with a chamois
