We have 2 Gites booked , one is near Cahors (south of Dordogne region) and the next is up near Montignac (Lascaeux cave area North of Dordogne area) . Big fans of the region , we always try and pick a slightly different area to explore each time .

Yep , we have been holidaying around the Dordogne for the last 6 years ' gorgeous countryside

sounds grand, we are still in england ! the french we know from south refer to this area as part of the uk... we intend a drive down on wine tour and up on cheese tour at some point before we both need mobility motors to get about. by which time there will prob be all sorts of crxp unreliable sensors on them as well . see, i am a cynic.....enjoy...

More likely they'll have made so much of the country into Crit d'air zones requiring a car less than six months old that no-one will be able to drive anywhere unless it's electric...

I'm converting mine to a wood burner with the price of a litre of SP 98 near €1.60 plenty of wood in Normandie.
Maybe not a good plan as the chainsaw needs petrol don't think I'm up to using a saw!

sorted then ,grand . dont know about you? but i now at age where regrettably all the learning done here has been pretty much forgotten by the next time the issue presents itself again ,and i end up going thru the same damn performance again...as you say price of DIY ,specifically the ageing DIY.

just now macron will prob follow the uk into banning further log burners , just to be sure that fuel goes out of the tax free loop.

yup.same i go down to my workshop,under house in the am full of intent, then get sidetracked and realize at 5pm that tho busy all day i completely forgot my original plan.
