The parking brake foot pedal on my C220 is failing to return. If I lift with my foot and then release the handle it is OK. I presume there is a spring on the pedal somewhere but I have failed to find the remains of any spring or where it is fitted. Can anyone help please?

I have a feeling that on yours the return spring is located under an access cover under the rear seat. Sounds strange but I had a friend some time ago who I saw under there doing something with his handbrake cables and a ratchet mechanism fitted with a return spring. Worth a look.

The spring is underneath at the rear where the two rear parking brake cables join to the actuation bar, the spring is fitted to this bar, it is a very long spring
