Hi.

I have followed the instructions in the owners manual to try and set my mirror to tilt when I put into reverse. When I manually adjust the mirror after putting into reverse, it just stays there when I put it back into drive. And if I reset the mirror, then it doesn’t do anything when I put the car in reverse. My car doesn’t have seat memory buttons. Anyone have an idea what’s going on?

here are the instructions I followed:

Park the vehicle and turn the key to position 2 in the ignition lock more.
Press button for the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side.
Engage reverse gear.
  • The exterior mirror on the front-passenger side moves to the preset parking position.
Use adjustment button to adjust the exterior mirror to a position that allows you to see the rear wheel and the kerb.
  • The parking position is stored.

What car do you have?
If I remember correctly most older models if you don’t have memory seats the reverse mirror drop isn’t available

Correct, you need to have memory seats for it to work.

Depends on the age, W213 dipped the mirrors without memory seats. Never had a W212 so couldn’t comment.

It’s a C207. I’m just a bit baffled as it says it in the user manual.

Manuals are written for every possible option you could have had on the car. So if it had memory seats then they need to describe how the mirror can be made to drop.

I had a 2010 C207 that didn’t have memory seats and the mirror wouldn’t drop in reverse.

I set mine after following this guide on Youtube. I do have memory seats though.
