Parktronic, linguatronic by Braybrooks.

Been away for a couple of days, just got back, mainly to have Braybrooks retro fit parktronic and linguatronic onto my under speced 06 W211, got to tell you all, whilst expensive compared with factory fit at new costs, both these items have been fitted as per total factory look and operation, and whilst I have not a full operation knowledge of the linguatronic as yet, need to use it more, i am very pleased with it all, not a scratch, dirty fingerprint, panel or trim out of place and not a rattle or squeak on the way back home. Very impressed with install and Neil Braybrook himself, can only pour praise upon the company.
On another thread, read ML420CDIs story, an absolute disgraceful situation, the dealership should be shot and banished from the kingdom of MB dealership, I personally would have been straight onto Milton Keynes, I just hope it has all resolved itself satisfactory!

Malcom, thanks for that, I remember posting this item a few months ago, regarding should I, or Should,nt I, and remember that you did,nt consider the liguagtronic worth the cost, to which you may very well be right, but its done and I am pleased with it all, albeit its only been in the car for 24hours. I explored this avenue, with MB dealers and nearer so called bigtime retro fit companys, Huets at Brighton, for one, Cant do it, not possible, etc etc, was the answer, well braybrooks did, and a very happy client I am, and given I am in a position to remain a mercedes owner, I will always return to Braybrooks. I spoke to Neil about various retro fits, its endless, but at a cost. Have a good weekend all.

linguretronic depends on your life style, if you use the phone or are a busy man in traffic it is a nice thing to have. I have not learnt all of the words yet, and if i say telephone she puts on the TV, once you have learnt the right words its great

Your right as usuaul Malcom, quite understand the life style issure comment, and albeit your car is much highly speced than mine, but enjoying your wise input to my original comments. I would be interested to know of others with Braybook experience, who, has used them, You would be interested, Neil was telling me that the SL was probably the car he would be most asked to work upon, by individuals and dealerships, what are they adding to their cars!.

Blocat, I can only recommend them from my own experience, but from other comments they seem highly thought of. Be intrested to know if you go further with this.

I do not think that there are many add to their car, if there is something that you want then it should be done when you first buy it. Parking sensors, Xenon lamps and dimming mirrors are high on the list, but many things are not a retro fit like Distronic and Keyless go or comfort seats, TV is quite high on the list, the Digi box is £635 + fitting for a retro, a lot more if you do not have a normal TV.

The labour on all of these jobs is high, on my car the dismantling scares you to death, to get an ign live feed from the from to the rear all of the center console has to come out, and the complete rear.

The advantage the braybrooks has is that once you have done it, its easy, just the time that it takes to get the thing apart, When it is DIY one is always a little nervous.

As I have the comand with the dvd and I like tidy installs I am thinking about it. I am also toying with the idea of integrating a reversing camera into to comand although I haven't even checked into the possibility of that as yet.

I under stand that it should be possible, you do I believe have a video input on the later Command (Alfie could confirm, well you have for TV) all video signals are 1v peak to peak so no problem there, it may need activating on Star, and at least you only have to get one small Coax lead from the rear to the Command, the power would come from the rear reversing lights

You only need a £25 B & W or one of the IR at £80 and see in the dark

I can vouch for Braybrooks. Neil is very knowledgable and always works to a very high standard.

I often pass on any work that I can't do or fit in, onto him.

It only shuts down when moving forward, the video on mine stays on while in reverse.

That's interesting I didn't know that, I haven't tried watching a DVD whilst reversing...

Thats handy,you can use it when you are reversing on to your drive way
