Should it cover the front and back bumpers on 02 M class?

Am pretty sure that it comes as a front and rear pack.

You should have a sort of curved display in the centre of the dash and a similar looking device suspended from the 'ceiling' in the rear just behind the first row of seats.

The bumpers will have to be drilled to fit them,No MB comes pre drilled with blanks.

that's the trouble with those parking aids. They do look rather a lot like someone has machine-gunned your bumpers. You would have thought that by now someone would have worked out a way of having them behind the bumper, or at least fitted invisibly.

I think they are a great idea, and work really well. I just think they tend to ruin the look of the car.

in all fairness MB are better at it than most. At least they make the sensors the same colour as the bumper. They are still very obvious though. Yours is a very dark colour so it probably hides them better.

The problem is that they are ultra sonic 22khz, and the shield in front of the sensors has to vibrate at that frequency. mounting them behind the bumper is a no go.

I quite like the look of them in the bumpers, not sure why - I guess it's because its visible evidence of all the toys and shouts "its not the basic model".
Sad but true ...

To go with the bumper sticker thread, they would have been ideal for putting a little red circle, sadly that would exclude members without parktronic.

You could go for 4 red circles on the front and 4 red circles on the rear. Wouldn't matter if you have parktronic or not. :p
Alternatively if the red circles stick out too much you could get them colour coded to the bumper
