Can someone please identify this 'gizmo'? I found it lying inside the bottom of the door when I went to change my window regulator because of a wrecked quadrant and motor gear. I could not work out exactly where it went or what its function is, but it obviously runs in one of the sliding channels somewhere. Made of nylon and measuring 1.1/8" x 1.3/8" at the base, looks like some kind of a guide with a 'buffer' bit on it attached to the base with a metal bracket. Hope you can help, as I'd really like to re-install the thing, it must have a job to do! (Tried to post a pic. but no joy).

I went ahead anyway and fitted the regulator, and all seems to be working fine even without this part!

Window guide, i.e looking inside drivers door on r/hand there is a guide running top to bottom (flat steel with a 90 deg. fold) the part slides up and down this guide and slips inside a slot at the bottom of the glass, fiddly to fit, you will need to undo the 6 regulator retaining nuts and twist the mech. to allow the part to slip onto the guide. Stops the window rattling around when open.

Many thanks joe bloggs, I know where you're at. I fitted it to the opposite side window rail/sliding channel but found it prevented the window opening fully.

Can't think why it didn't occur to me to try the OTHER end, it seems so obvious now!

Cheers for the help, Tom.
