OK, I posted a while ago about my dealer not wanting to let me have the part numbers I requested?
Well, that is company policy believe it or not. The reason being that MB want you to sign up to the web gizmo, which costs, so you can get part information.
Below is a reply to my query on this policy of secrecy, and the way it made the owner of an older MB I am keen to keep pure MB, feel unwanted.
"Thank you for your email of 30th July 2007, whereby you contacted your local Mercedes-Benz dealership, and they advised that no discount is offered on parts , and that the relevant part numbers would not be made available to you.
In light of your concerns, we regret to inform you that your dealership acted in accordance, as are not obliged to give a discount or supply the part numbers.
Regrettably, we are unable to supply any part numbers from this office, as we do not deal with part(s) enquiries as these are dealt with via our dealerships directly. However, you can obtain part(s) numbers via the website below. Please be advised that you will need to register and that there is also a charge to use this website.
