Hi

I have just taken delivery of a Mar 2009 E280 CDI with COMAND - it has the boot-mounted DVD and both a single and 6-pack CD player. When I turn it on - no audio source plays until I select a source - CD/radio/AUX etc - when I do the system is superb. However - I cant figure out how to kill an audio source without either selecting a different one - noise continues, turning off the COMAND - no nav or turning down/muting the volume - surely not the most elegant of solutions.

I am probably missing something obvious but would appreciate any help out there.

It's the only thing that works for me too.

What is even more frustrating is there is no mute command in Linguatronic!!

These thing have moved on a bit from mine.

If you have nothing connected say to the AUX then after you have planned your route and on you way,,just press the AUX then navigation again and you should get silence with just the route guidance,, the same goes for any other button with no input

Is this a 211 or a 212? If it's the 211, what options do you get when you press the Audio button on the COMAND? In mine (W220) when you press Audio button (you need to do it twice if you are in another mode) you get a choice down the left hand soft keys of audio source, but the bottom right soft key is Off which left you turn off the current audio, but still keep Sat Nav, telephone etc working.

Sorry if I'm missing something, but what's wrong with turning the volume down? Navigation instructions (and traffic information) continue at their preset volumes.

But why should one have to "turn it down" to silence the audio?

Hit the Mute button and all is well :)
