Anyone see this film on BBC1 last night?

Bit of a cheesy yank flick, however the quality scene had to be when the lone S Class, out ran and wrecked 3 BMW 525's......

Brought a smile to my face!

If it had been the real deal with the run flat tyres it would have been unstopable.

( im talking about the b4 armored S class as it was)

or one of these from Carat Duchatelet:

http://www.carat-duchatelet.be/

"This reinforced structure not only drastically improves the body strength ensuring remarkable stiffness against torsion and bending, but mainly, creates the best protection against collision, explosion and ammunition attacks while respecting the original body shape and structure with no ballistic holes which would permit intrusion of projectiles in the car."

Quite commonplace now...

link: Goodyear EMT (runflat) tyres

"The new Goodyear EMT spells the end of emergency wheel changes. This amazing new innovation from Goodyear eliminates the need for dangerous roadside wheel changes and allows you to drive for up to 50 miles at 50mph on a deflated tyre! The EMT tyre also fits on a standard wheel.

EMT is only available from specialist dealers, and is available in a wide range of high performance tyre sizes from 15" wheels upwards."

(the above looks like a mercedes wheel :) )

...so you can have some fitted to your 190E now, no excuses left :)

Looks like im a bit behind on the rubber front.

Anyone have these on their cars at all?

Are they worth the no doubt highly inflated price? (get it?? do ya?)

Hi all

If your looking for a film with a good chase scene in. Whatch Ronin. Stars Robert Deniro, but the best scene is the 450sel 6.9 which roars into the picture. No stopping it.

Regards

Andy

Those run-flat tyres sound expensive, any prices Shude?

Prolly about £200 per tyre, a little more than a standard Goodyear Eagle F1.

If you want to see some more car chases / cool driving then check out http://www.bmwfilms.com.  Directors like John Frankenheimer (Ronin), Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger), Wong Kar-Wai, Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock etc) and Alejandro González Iñárritu took part in what are essentially BMW adverts but they're cool anyway :) .
