One problem I had with my BMW 316 and also (going back a while) my wife's Maestro was the vulnerability of vertical headlamps to stone chips and breakages. In these days of "fling some stone chips on wet tar and leave a speed sign" road resurfacing the problem is just getting worse.

Not wanting to get hit with a bill for new headlamp units on my new (to me) '99 C200 I did a bit of googling and came up with Climair http://www.climairuk.com as a supplier of perspex goodies.

Ordered a pair of covers on line GBP40-ish inc VAT and delivery which were duly delivered - these was a bit of a delay but that was quickly and efficiently sorted out - and the covers duly arrived. A single instruction sheet and all fittings are supplied and the covers were wellpackaged.
They wrap around the whole headlamp and indicator area and only take 5 minutes to fit via a single hanger clip at the top and 2 retaining clips with plastic nut and screw at the bottom.

Takes a little bit of snuggling to get the fit just right around the corner but once done no problems.

Hi,
Had these fitted to my C230K i bought them from euro-car parts, I have removed them now as having done 100,000 miles with them they were a bit misty and scratched, and now that w202 parts are common place and the fact that the glass can be replaced on its own rather than having to replace the whole headlight, i decided not to replace them.
Less than 10,000 miles later, chipped headlamp glass.
Do ensure the 2 black screws remain greased and free as they very quickly sieze up.
