Hi
I fitted a new MAF to my W208 Clk 230K recently. Has sorted the cars perf etc.... The revs at idle is now sorted. However the revs are still slightly lower when the car is at a stop with my foot on the brake but the car is in 'D'.
The revs at idle in neutral are approx 750, but in Drive they are 550/600. Is that normal? My diesel auto was constant.

Thanks
Gary

Thats not too bad,,give it a little time and it may adapt. the idle speed can only be set on STAR

Hi
Not sure I explained it well. The idle is fine all the time EXCEPT when I am in 'D' and the car is at standstill with my foot on the brake. The revs then drop to 550/600. I guess this is the engine straining slightly as I am holding it back. I have never had this before on any car so I assume that the car is meant to increase the revs in this situ to counter the prob. So I assume there is an ecu, gearbox or other prob?

OK I am with you now,,,yes the revs will drop when in D,,maybe the idle was lower on the old MAF and the new one giving a higher idle, therefore dropping the revs more when in D My SL drops 500rpm when I put it in D

If it does not stall then leave as is,,thats what I would do
