Hello everyone, this is a long, boring and most likely fruitless question - but it has been annoying me, and hopefully someone can help, or at least put my mind at ease. Oh, and I know older Merc's bluetooth compatibility (or lack thereof), in particular for music streaming from a phone - has been discussed to death, but I cannot find much on this particular issue.
Ok, so it is a 2 part question really and here is the background info... I have a Viseeo mb4 plugged in to my 2005 CLK (which has the COMAND unit with Freeview Tv/NAV options etc.) - and for making phonecalls it is crystal clear and works a dream, and usually for music I use an FM transmitter (as I like to be able to switch songs easily), but yesterday the FM transmitter was not plugged in, and something weird happened - Google maps audio came through the speakers - and politely interrupted the radio station I was listening to when necessary to tell me to turn etc., this is something that has never happened before - and only worked with the FM transmitter.
After I got home, it was bugging me as I couldn't work out how/why this had happened. On top of that, I then had the idea to try linking my Spotify with my Google Maps, and then streaming music through the Maps app... genius! Or so I thought, as next time I tried I couldn't get Google Maps to play through the speakers - APART from for a split second before and after a phonecall (and during this split-second my music through Google trick DID actually work on each attempt I tried)... So with all that in mind:
1/ is there a setting in the phone/app/viseeo/car/anywhere that allows Google Maps to play through the speakers (I have toggled on 'play voice over bluetooth' and 'play as bluetooth phonecall' in Google Maps settings - which both seem pretty tailor-made for my needs)? Or did I just experience a weird glitch in the Matrix and this Google audio phenomenon is likely not to happen again?
2/ if there is a way to do the above, should the Spotify-via-Google-Maps option work in theory? (remembering that it DOES work for a second before and after a call)
Huge apologies if this all too nerdy/boring/specific, but it's kind of interesting and I think there simply MUST be a way to make it work (without having to use the FM transmitter, that does actually do what it is meant to, but not only looks a bit dated/ugly but also experiences slight feedback/interference that I have never been able to get to the bottom of either).
