Some wifey slamed on her brakes, near the safari park, the other morning because a pheasant wanted to cross the road. It nearly caused a big pile up.

The worst thing to hit seems to be a deer. I find it impossible to hit a crow though.

Deers are nasty on account of the hooves :( they can cause a lot of damage. But cows are in another league of their own. I used to live near common land where the farmers would drop the cows off to graze in the summer. Every summer someone would get killed or seriously injured by colliding with a cow...
They are just a big bag of liquid suspended above the impact points on the car meaning if you do hit one the first real point of contact is the windscreen :(

Is the pheasent okay?

Pheasents are the most stupid bird there is as they just walk about and don't care who comes near them.I dont know why people say that they where out hunting for pheasants as they will not fly away when you see them.

'Gun Dogs' nowadays are trained to chase living birds so they act like Pheasants and fly away. Then they get shot and the dogs have to go and retrieve them. How long before the dogs work this one out?

The worst thing to hit is a moose, all you see is four legs and then you are dead.

****** Peasants

I would buy the part from MB and get good Body Shop to paint it up.

Was it a cock or hen.

PS: Some good recipes on the www.bbc.co.uk web site

Hi,

I hit a pheasant in mine whilst cruising the cotswolds. Just overtook a car and caravan(road blockers) and getting close on to 60 the bird who had obviously just had a row with his wife walked straight out into the road. The view in the rear view mirror was excelent, the caravan completely hidden from view by feathers and guts.

Sadly for me I had taken the bird out using my fog light, one new light later and a bit of dealer time puts pheasants at about 140 quid a brace.

Good luck,

Peasants can be a particular pain when they step off the pavement in front of your pride and joy. I trust the number of points you received helped to make up for the damage to your bodywork?!

I would not eat 'road kill' if I were you. There might be another reason for the slowness of the animal rather than being 'plain stupid'. It could have an underlying disease that might not sit well with your constitution. I know about these things.
