Phone - Pre-Wired System

I've got a 2005 C200K which has the MB pre-wired phone system linked to the Audio 20 and steering wheel controls. I have recently aquired an MB cradle (Ref. B6 787 5835) for my Nokia 6100 phone and carefully followed the instruction to fit the cradle to the connector in centre arm rest and phone into cradle. The phone immediately starts charging and displays the symbol recognising it's in a car system but both the Audio 20 and the dash display "NO PHONE". On the back of the cradle it identifies several compatible phones with an "SW Version" number alongside each. For my Nokia 6100 it says SW Version 5.80. Does anyone know how I get the phone working, do I need to install something on the phone or the car system?? Nokia have take a week to get back to me saying they can't help!!

you need to go the dealer who will set up through star diag to function the steering wheel!

only a thought,if you take the battery off the phone,you will see a label giving the version number. if it is lower than 5.8 take the phone to one of the little back street phone shops and for £10 they will update your phone, on their computer, I have just had one done.

Exactly this happened on my B class. Simply take it into your dealer, as your car is under warranty, and tell them the phone doesnt work there must be a fault with the pre-wiring. They will hook it up to their STAR machine and fix it.
