I can't work out how to transfer my contacts from my iPhone SE via the car's Viseeo bluetooth unit to the Comand system in my W211. Can anyone help? (I don't have access to a Windows computer - all ours are Apple.) Viseeo's stated method doesn't work - their green light is supposed to flash, then show a steady light to indicate that data has been transferred from the phone. Mine just flashes, then goes out.

phonebook ?

on things as old as you are working with its quite likely some never applied firmware update could be a great starting point.

which viseeo do you have.... LOTS of updates on the 3 and 4 were to fight phonebook fun
I'd also check if the car is running the last update available - if its a comand NTG1 does it have time of arrival displaying on the nav screen if not there was an update

In general I don't understand a world where we accept 200 patches a month on an apple phone or 1000 meg of Win 10 updates everyday. But religiously know the cars radio and budget aftermarket toys, predicated all Apple's lunacy coming over the next 10 years and had created code that would just work forever. Particularly when its software was written by a dyslectic monkey who was only paid 27p at the time

Have you checked the contacts are held on the sim card and not the phone memory? The contacts won't transfer from the phone memory
I was able to transfer all my contacts from my Samsung when I had my E55 with NTG1 and Viseeo MB-3000.

I'm fairly sure there is a firmware update for my Viseeo MB-2 - but it has to be downloaded to, and transferred from, a Windows PC which I don't have, nor do I know anyone who does. Not sure of the Comand model - but it does show TOA on the nav screen. Appreciate your response - thanks.

I think this is part of the problem - an iPhone can only store contacts on the phone memory, not the SIM card.

in the days of efficiency and privacy you wrote the names to the SIM, so when you got a new phone you popped in the SIM and all was good and when they stole the phone the SIM went in a skip and you kept your privacy

then the global monsters realised manipulating you in to slavery and selling your life was far more profitable than making the junk they pedal. so they attempted to stop us having the names on the SIM by making it hard work - this still kept sensible people happy - so criminal organisations rewrote the OS so the phone only works after its copied it across - thus ensuring they are getatable - and the phone company and all the app companies have a good rummage about, spy on your contact lists, joining up the world, sell off your bank info if stupid enough to do ANYTHING financial with the most insecure joke on the planet in what should be a criminal conspiracy

its also why it turns on, whenever you charge it (so they can track your location properly) and also why the build in battery is unremovable - so it always has a rough location position, even with the SIM card removed and the phone turned off !!!

and if that's not bad enough the std settings for windows has the default key logger in win 10 always on and thus they have every password you ever typed, all your emails etc. which they sell to governments to ensure the corporations get the data want

Thank you for your helpful reply and I'm sure you feel much better for having got all that - about which there's no argument - off your chest.
