OK, picked it up and I love it!!! Only little problems I've spotted so far are:

The passenger window is stiff and sometimes gets stuck. It seems as if the window has come away from the runner. If I grab it, it moves left to right. Am I ok to take the door panel off as it has an airbag in there!

The sunroof is VERY slow, I think this may need greasing or something.

The drivers door panel and side of the seat have loads of marks and the speaker cover is damaged due to the seatbelt clip getting trapped between the door and seat. I will hunt down a replacement speaker grille.

The drivers seatbelt doesn't spring back into position.

If anyone has had any experience on any of these, I would be very greatful of any tips.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Lee.

hahaha, I'll leave well alone then! I'm thinking that alot of grease and WD40 may be required!

Any other comments?

Be careful with WD40 it is not a lubricant, if you get something like Slick20 its silicon and teflon based, it does not dry,or leave stains, I used it on all of the moving parts of my new SL.

When you are ready to start doing some jobs, just ask and you will get a lot of help.even if it is just for taking off a door card.

I have a 97 CLK 320. Thanks for the tip on WD40!. Can you use slick 20 on rubber as well?

OK, it looks like I may need to take the door card off. Anyone got a guide on how to do this?!!!

Done 100 miles so far and I must say it is very nice! One slight niggle is that when I touch the accelerator just a bit I.E. when moving through traffic, there is a slight squeel. Not quite a slipping belt sound, more of a rattly squeel. Not too loud. When I floor it, you don't hear it! Any ideas.

Going to give it a valet tomorrow as it's very dirty. What's the best stuff to use on the leather (it's cream leather by the way!)

Oh, 1 more thing (!) found some rust around the boot lock. Can I get this sorted under the rust warranty? I read on here that this model has a 10 year rust warranty and I have a FULL merc history.

Thanks again.

I take what I can one by one.

Silicon is the perfect rubber lubricant.
If you use your VIN numbers first 6 figures here, ie 208447 ? go to doors and you will see how the door cards come off and how the speaker grills attach.

If you feed the full 17 figure inc WDB here ,you will get the new spec and options as it left the factory.

that's A FEW THINGS TO THINK ABOUT.
