I used them once, but found them to be very soft and so although they gave excellent grip they didn't last long on the rears.

Cheers guys,

Just had them fitted on the front (235/40/18) and they feel great, even better than the Rainsport 3's they replaced. Not too woried about longevity as I only cover about 6,000 miles a year. FYI, I paid £241 including fitting/balancing/valves and the ubiquitous "casing disposal fee". :)

Continental SportContact 6, Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy5 and Michelin Pilot Sport 4s are all thought to be pretty much on a par with each other.

Running Pilot Sport 4 on the BMW and very impressed, the tread was a bit sticky when fitted and threw up a lot of dirt/grit initially but nicely bedded in now, not impressed with loosing 1mm (7 instead of 8mm) of tread but I imagine most of the manufacturers are doing the same

Malcolm (Television) made us all aware of the Tyre Manufacturers wrongdoing.
A bit like the size of a Mars Bar reducing too.
