Piston missfire

My Cylinder one misfire situtation is like this. Engine hot or cold it will misfire. Turn engine off and back on it will be ok for a little while. This happens when I floor the gas pedal. Saw one post where sparkplugs and fuel injector replacement didn't help. Any ideas?

Hi,
Assuming this is a M111 engine, have you had a look at the plug leads x2 and the plug caps fitted directly underneath each coil pack?
Had a similar problem on my C class (same engine) and one of the plug caps under one of the coil packs was cracked and was arcing out.

Didn't some of these engines suffer from sticking valves in the early days? A compression check might be worthwhile when the problem is present.
