Interesting, my car is a bit older than Mr. Costello's but it clearly says on the build sheet 'Leather' but of course it is Artico. mmmm

In 1999 I bought a new Saab 93 Turbo - the upholstery was described as having "leather seat facings" which amused me.

Manufacturers have been doing this for years and it was terrible in the mid 2000's where peopel still believed it was true leather when it looked, felt and smelt nothing like it. However, people insited that due to the brand it must be genuine... so the manufacturers use their brand to sell even more poorer quality stuff to consumers and only now.... a few handful of people are taking legal action against these manufacturers and winning.

My uncle just bought 2 Range Rovers (outright), 1 is always in the garage but the dealer won't take the car back, replace or, refund him so he's taking legal action as the car is a pile of junk and not fit for purpose.

Reading this all Mercedes had to do was to be honest, (yeah-right) and tell the man that they were a mixture of Leather and other Materials. But no, they still try to pull the wool over people's eyes!
Serves them right, and in my opinion another zero should have been on the end of that figure!

It would be nice if all information in car sales literature were 100% accurate, maybe they could start with claimed MPG figures ?

Got his payout and flogged the car. I might have done the same if I was that disappointed. But I would have read up here first about Artico...
