Hi.. I am considering purchsing a '96 Elegance c250 td estate but the only thing causing me to delay is the fact that there is a small puff of smoke/fume/gas coming from the turbo area, but only on start up..
The engine sounds tight(maybe a little lag at very low revs) and does not smoke when running..
Could any one please advise if this is normal, an easily fixable fault(maybe a gasket on the turbo) or something to stay well clear of...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Your Mercedes
S class
I think if you buy a 12 yr old car you have to expect some to spend some money on it, a turbo is basically an item that would probably need replacing at some time, depending on usage..if ur happy with the car and its condition by all means buy it.. you can get a turbo reconditioned for around £100..tho I cant vouch for recon turbos.. anyone have any experience of recon turbos?
