I have recently purchaced a 2000 S class 600. My problems started with the comete instrument cluster not working. There were no LEDs lighting up and from what I could see the guages were not registering either. After checking the fuses I found that one had blown. ( It was a low amp fuse located under the bonnet on the n/s bulkhead) I replaced this and now I have the needles on the guages lighting up and the guages registering but nothing else. Also the SRS light is on all the time and the ABS light came on breifly yesterday.

I don't know if it's related but the car also has rough idling.

I am an MB enthusiast, not a rich man, and am therefore reluctant to take the car to a main dealer.

I would be very gratefull for any help anyone can give me as I'm at a comlete loss as to what to do.

Many thanks,

Bob.

I'm not sure an S600 was the best choice if you're not a rich man... I believe the SRS light has to be reset by a dealer, I'd ignore the ABS if it only came on briefly. If it was mine, I'd disconnect the battery overnight... it's a magic fix for lots of lesser cars.
