Hi All,

This is my first post on this forum!!!

I have spent this whole weekend trying to decide if I can easily fit the Dension Ice Link kit in my UK 2001 C180 Avantguarde Estate. I have the Audio 10 cd player at present, no changer.

I have done no end of searching, but cant decide weather my car is pre-wired for the cd changer or not, I am beginning to assume as I am in the UK it is not prewired.

I am hoping that one or more of you very well informed people can give a definitive answer, I am getting such a headache.

Please help.

Many thanks

Hi,
The car should be pre-wired.
the CD changer fits in the glove box on the C-class (W203) and the connectors are behind the glove box. There should be 2 connectors: one for the power to the changer; the other is the fibre optic link (D2B).
The Cd changer for the Audio 10 should be a MC3010 model (Merc unit).
If the unit you are trying to fit does not have a fibre optic link, you may need a different wiring loom to connect to the back of the radio.

Thanks for the info, so to get to the cables do I have to take the glove box out, or how do I do it?

This may seem a stupid question for which I am sorry, but I dont wanna start pulling that car apart if it is easy to get to by some hatch or such like.

Hi,
I think there is a hatch on the back right side of the glove box. The cables should be just behind it.
The fibre optic cables are orange(x2) with one black plug and the power one is black with a small black plug

If the CD holder is on the right hand side of the glove box, you may have to move it to the left side.
The wires should be behind the hatch on the right hand side

Sorry to be a pain, but any idea how to move it. I have tried but it is firm against the right side.

Thanks.

Hi,
I think it is hold in place on a slidding bracket on the top of the holder.
They may also have used some double sided tape. There should be no screws in it as there isn't any room for them
