Please help. Knocking noise from front passenger side.

please can someone help me in possible cause of a knocking noise from the front passenger side when I drive over bumps. I have been told by someone that it ould be the lower arm that needs replacing.
The car is an E 230 (1997), and am wondering if there are any recommended garages in the London area that deal with these type of problems? How much approx should I expect to pay ?

Try a garage that do free estimates. Dare I even say Kwik Fit, just to see what they say ?

It could be anything from what you suggest, lower arm, ball joint, bush, front strut, link, etc. or a combination of either.

Let us know what they say.

Is it a W124 or W210 car ????????????

first try anti-roll bar drop links-they are a common problem and could cause this noise--not expensive and easy to replace
