So long story short 4 guys came to buy my car distracted me while distracted they poured oil in my header tank and then pulled one of my injector wires out. I removed the injector and put back cleaned header tank flushed system but now my car won’t fire up and if it does it’s only for a very short 2 secs then dies and won’t start again had diesel on my head around the injectors. My car is a 2014 w212 e220 se cdi 125kw 170bhp please help.

Horrible story, suspect it all needs stripped down.....wonder if you could claim insurance against attempted theft?

I had this happen while trying to sell a 530d. The scumbags dumped oil in the header tank, luckily I'd heard of the scam and told them to fxxk off. They had the cheek to ask for petrol money!

I doubt it, and anyway, that's gonna load him on renewal. Sounds like it's developed some odd ECU issue maybe? An acquaintance of mine had problems with his W212, a spurious O2 sensor code, and in the end had to take it to Johnny SBC for a software flash or something. I'm sure someone else will know more.

Thanks for replies guys. There’s no error codes coming up. Could it be the injector has gone down? I noticed aswell a o ring on my leak off pipe has perished aswell could this be contributing to the non start

Why put oil in the header tank ? Is that supposed to prove there is a head gasket leak ?

What a bunch of idiots. Hope you get the car going soon, if that is all they did, it doesn't sound too bad. Might need to go on Star to clear codes etc.

BARSTEWARDS to put it bluntly.

For the cooling circuit, there are some cleaners to use to put in the header tank that goes trough the whole system to clean it properly. Obv you need to get the stat open, or take it out for the process.
Dificculty then is draining the block, and not knowing how much water is in the system.

Look carefully those ars*h*les may have disconnected something else, fuel hoses, injection pump, vac lines.

Sorry to hear but dont give up...If it took them not long to do this, hopefully it wont take long to rectify beyong finding what they done....

I suspect that these persons sabotage the car so can get at cheaper price when they point out the faults.
At the end of the day it is criminal damage, this should be reported to the Police to get this stopped, if you have the contact details and a name, they will act on it as a clear suspect and offender.
I cannot see any other reason for doing what they are doing.

another thought, if you took injector out and disconnected the fuel line, you may have caused an air lock causing your issue.

I thought this was a well known scam? If 3 or 4 guys turn up you lock the car and walk away. Their technique is indeed to cause issues with your car so that they can batter you down on price. Oil in the cooling system is common as is causing a misfire. You could report it to the police as criminal damage - the police may have history on them already..
