JUST GOT (LAST NIGHT) W123 230TE. :D :D :D :D

The interior is almost perfect, the central locking just doesn't work, the electrical wind up aerial half works and there's some tiny scabby rusty bits around and about. It is an awful lot of car for the money and when my wife & I discussed it her only comment was 'NEED'.

It's lovely -but I will be searching through past threads and asking some questions soon in order to sort out the little things.

THE BIG QUESTION IS:

HOW DO I STOP HUMMING THAT DAMN SONG. YOU KNOW THE ONE. OH LORD WON'T YOU ...

NOW I'VE STARTED YOU OFF TOO. sorry

IS THIS NORMAL? WILL IT STOP? CAN I TAKE SOMETHING FOR IT? WHO DO I BLAME?

It's driving me mad. Maybe I should have got a m**deo estate after all...

Mark

NB: Please take everything in this post very seriously, this man needs help.

I've still got the Groove Armada one from the MB ads in my head.. "If everybody looked the same.. " etc etc... But yes, the Joplin one's a killer too :)

Yeh, I think we all know that song!
I've even down loaded the MP3 file at some time, if you like I can e-mail it you :D

Once you've caught the MB bug it soon turns into a incurable infection and then one day you wake up with three of the things on your drive way

Tee hee.

Welcome to the club by the way. The W123 230TE is a cracking car. The central locking is a very common problem and it is just starting to go on mine. Loads of info elsewhere on the forum about this. The electric winder is good fun to take apart, and only £27 for a new unit from ECP if you find you can't put it back together again. As for the song - the cure is quite simple. Time. I have managed to get it out of my head for 6 months now, and I am gradually regaining control of my life... but thanks for reminding me!

Electric aerial now sorted.

It wound up all the way then carried on until it fell out onto the drive. OOPS  . This gave me the opportunity to examine it - I think it's quite broke.

New one on the way - just can't live without it.

Song still there...wish I knew all the words.
