Pls help! vacum and air mass

Hi folks

I do hope that you can help!

i hv owned my clk for the last 5 years, relatively trouble free. However, problems hv now occured.

Prob 1:

my MAF has casued probs and the engine light is on.the dealer replaced, with I did. Still the same prob. Then delaer said problmes with oil coming into engine, needs to replace some harness and wires etc, wanting another £1800.

I went to an indi who insisted i replace the air mass meter (again), which i did for another £350.

Same prob - really upset now!

Any ideas? the engine light remains on.


Prob 2:
I have a very nice client, who agreed to look at my car for the second prob. each time i open the car with the fob, it makes a hissing noise from the driver side door. My client took the door off and said it needs part number:

Is there any place that i can pick up a cheap one from? i have a clk w208(?) 2002 finial edtion covertibale 230k.

Its a known problem where the oil from the camshaft sensor goes through the wiring up to the ECU, and in bad cases the oil goes through the wiring into the MAF.

To do a good job it needs a new seal and the wiring harness.

Some just replace the seal and leave the harness but oil can come out for some time.

The engine ECU will wash out without any problems.
The MAF will also wash out OK with no problems.

Where do you live in the UK.

Thanks. Anyone that you can recommend for seal and harness? The indi said it keeps throwng up different codes and thus cld be a short circurit somewhere, whereas Dealer stated oil.

Not sure where I shld tk the car now!

i live in nottingham, work in lon. Am able to travel to the right people to sort it out! as really worried.

Prob 2:
Checked euromerc, do not hv part will try delaer tom.

Check the air intake ducting for oil contamination.
