Hi
It seems I only post when I want something, wish I could contribute a bit more but well!!!!
Anyway here goes can any of you well informed lads and lasses tell me who to believe?
I AM ABOUT TO SERVICE MY 1999 C180 THE HAYNES MANUAL SAYS THE PLUG GAP SHOULD BE 1.0mm BUT THE LOCAL MERC MAIN DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE PLUGS SAYS IT SHOULD BE 0.80mm THE GAP IS PRE-SET TO 0.80 AND IS STAMPED ON THE SIDE OF YHE PLUG.
Any help please?
Also when I change the oil I am thinking of using SLICK 50 any comments?
Thank in anticipation
john

The plugs are pre-gapped to correct size at the factory. Use them as they are. I would use Castrol or Mobil Oil. Your car probably had Mobil in when made if MB used Mobil when yours was made.

Thanks Stevie I was thinking of a fully synthetic oil the SLICK 50 is an additive I"ve used it in previous cars and it seemed ok its supposed to put a non stick surface on all metal it uses the oil as a carrier.
thanks again
