Hi
My C180 classic estate doesn't seem to be very powerful in the heater department!! Has anyone got any ideas on the problem and it's solution?
Thank you

Hi,
Pollen filter is situated in the front passenger footwell, can be accessed by removing the the lower dash panel.
Very cheap £8 from ECP i think, or approx. £20 from MB
Very easy job to do.

Blocked dust/pollen filter?

Just taken pollen filter out. Did seem quite dirty so vacuumed it until I get a new one. Can hear air but not at the speed would expect too. Thanks for your advice though.

It may be that the fan or fan regulator is crook. Take the fan out and inspect it .

Hi Aussie
Does that mean crook as in ill or crook as in not straight!? ;) Sorry! Took fan out, cleaned it and put back. Upon closer inspection without the cover on and starting the engine, the fan doesn't go round so assume the motor may have had it as there are no apparent blockages.
Thank you

What is the mileage on your car, my C180 fan started to give probs at about 110,000 miles, removed and found the brushes almost expired with a lot of grooving and damage to the commutator. I increased the spring tension on the brushes and it kept the motor running for a couple of weeks by which time I bought a new one from Euro, cost about £100 / 120 if I remember correctly. Straight forward job to change, but helps if you are a contortionist and not a fat b----r like me.
