Is there actually ANYTHING worth taking off? I guess it's worth £100 to strip it - the shell would return £50+ for scrap value. That huge rust hole next to the bootlid is insane!
What are the chances of the old M110 twin cam engine being any good?

I hate to see cars like that. It was last taxed in 1994 and you just know it was restorable when it was parked up - but no, they just left it to rot with the old 'I'm going to do it up one day' story.

They're never a valuable car but it's still criminal.

I'm not going to bid as the plate is from 1981 yet he describes the car as being from 1976. DVLA say the same...

Is that not right though?

As it's LHD it will have been imported, so built in '76 and registered in the UK in '81.

Now you can bid on it! :)

Could be the only Ebay auction with minus bids:rolleyes:

I'm not sure on that, when the Japanese imports are registered over here they get age related plates depending upon when they were built.

I have a feeling that age related plates were not around back then, not in the sense now where you have no choice.

When I was buying from auctions in the 70-80s you always had to be careful of imports and the reg number.

When I exported my 280TE from England, i did it at the local office in Luton, when it came to the year, I said to the girl doing it,"its not an 1983 its a 1986" and they got it wrong the last time, so she put down 1986 for me.

From the DVLA website
Are there any restrictions to the year of registration number I can choose?
You can make your vehicle look as old as you wish but you can not make it look newer than it actually is i.e. You cannot put a Y registration number on a T registered vehicle but you could choose any prefix from an A to a T.
I've found the import page at the DVLA but nothing relating to what year plate a used import will receive.
