Poorly DAS on 2001 ML270

After water ingress my ML has messaged Start Error, it won’t turn over and after diagnostic hook up we identified DAS module was not communicating. Sourced a secondhand replacement but it needs recoding. I’ve tried independent Merc mechanics, no go. I’ve tried Bosch Service Centres, no go. It looks like an expensive trip to main dealers, any advice welcomed.

welcome, not sure why independents wouldn't code it for you if they'd fit it (probably non guaranteed of course), main dealers are quite unlikely to do it at all!

Ideally situated for MBS in Woolston whom I believe have just reopened.
Silver Arrows in Titchfield maybe.

Not to sure that I would go to either MB dealerships nearby, Marshall’s in Portsmouth or Southampton.
