Can anybody help with a suitable position for the GPS aerial for Snooper system ? E220 CDi
I have tried positions quoted by manufacture -inside front screen does not function ,Rear window does not function .At the moment the only place that provides a signal for the GPS is outside on the bonnet near to the screen.Problem is that aerial is not IP67.

Can anyone help. System works fine

I have a Road Angel which also uses GPS signals to warn of cameras and blackspots etc. I would have thought the best location for your GPS aerial would be on the dashboard as close to the windscreen as possible so the unit has the best chance of a clear view of the sky above. Sorry if I'm not adding anything new to your findings. Certain cars (most modern Renaults and some Mercs) have a metallic coating on the windscreen to cut down on solar rays heating the car interior, unfortunately these can interfere with or block the GPS signal. Does your car fall into this category? If so, you might need a re-radiating GPS aerial.

p.s. It's good to see someone else with a knowledge of Ingress Protection ;) heh IP67 it probably ain't but I guess it must be better than IP21 :p
