I have a mate with one of these. It's no looker, but he's pleased with it. He let me drive it, "give it the beans", he said. I couldn't find any beans, but I made some appreciative noises anyway.

Why oh why. Even the manufacturers have said we are 8yrs away from the point where an electric would be worth buying, as they are currently experimenting.

Secondly, whilst it’s no looker, it’s better looking than 95% of the dire tripe that most manufactures are knocking out with the exception being Porsche. Get a red one if you do.

My daughter has just bought a Skoda Enyaq x80.
Son in law took me out for a ride and I have to say it was pretty good from the passenger seat (if a little soulless). My major complaint was the ****** touchscreen for everything that has become so prevalent these days.

I know it’s each to their own but, the fact here is everything you would be able to do by touch, memorising the location and feel of each button etc. This is one of those things that hasn’t been bettered.

Even changing simple settings on the go is utterly stupid and dangerous in the modern age…. The number of times I’m also crashed into whilst overtaking people on their phones, playing with the stupid menus etc is truly unbelievable.

My daughter has a trial week with a Ford KUGA PHEV at the end of August so it will be interesting to see how it performs, I’ve suggested doing a 200 mile round trip to see what the mpg is on what will essentially be the petrol engine after the hybrid battery shuts down after 30 miles or so. Should be interesting…
