Hi I'm Peter, If all goes well I'm about to buy my first MB, a C270. I currently have a much loved Saab 9000 v6, but most of the time it is broken, and I need something for my daily commute that just works. Ideally I would like something super quiet, comfortable and relaxed like an X350 XJ Sovereign, (or MB CL perhaps?) but I have to start closer to the entry level for now.

Welcome, I would suggest you start looking at Euro5 vehicles, AddBlue & NOX sensors are causing issues on the Euro6 vehicles.
