Hi I think I've had a near miss today.
Needless to say I politely withdrew from the communication, however this person could be genuine, but my mantra is, "if something is too good to be true it is probably not" .
What is disconcerting is, the recommendation came from a "new member", so could a moderator contact me and I will provide full details.
Another worrying detail is:-
How to raise an alert on our forum?
Perhaps we can introduce a simple system for members to report suspicious activity?
By which a moderator can assist to prevent potential fraudulent activities on our forum?
Or how to contact a moderator or someone with the autonomy to deal with this sort of thing.
I tried a MB forum search, no result, I checked the forum drop down list, again nothing on how to warn other forum users.
Hope this is of use.
- I advertised for a part in our classifieds section and was contacted by a member who's not been on the forum very long (Sept 2020)
- They recommended the following e mail "comichael464@gmail.com"
- I sent a list of parts via e mail with a list of parts, they claimed they were in California.
- They provided prices to which I replied they were too expensive and the price dropped by $300 !!
- I googled comichael464@gmail.com e mail address, the results from other forums make interesting reading!!!
