We have been there before IIRC it replaces the MAF. Malcolm was doing some tests on one. I will find the thread.

Read about this elsewhere.

It's a resistor which can be bought for literally a few pence from Maplins etc.

It basically over fuels the car, so plays havoc with m.p.g. as well.

Oh....he does supply a cable tie though :D

Interesting, I sold my last car with it installed, this was done by fitting the resistor onto a micro switch so that it only came into operation at Kick down

I think it did go better, but I sold the car. DavidsSL was also doing the mod on his SL500 and I do not know how he found it.

The resistor connects over the air temp sensor or the water temp sensor.

These sensors have a cold -5c resistance of resistance of 10kΩ dropping to zero Ω at 100c. the resistors are 4.7kΩ. they make the engine far too thirsty to be engaged the whole time, that was why a micro switch on the throtle was used.
I have at least two thousand in stock, that I paid £2 for the lot, so if anyone wants them at £3 each, £6k profit.

You know Russell, when I was eating my dinner, I thought that I could call mine an improved MK2 version and charge £6 each, no I would rather sit here and think about the CLK where the Brake switch did not fix the car.
