Hi

I'm new in this forum and would like some help

I replaced my MAS sensor about 3 months ago , due to loss in power.

I replaced the plugs and the air filter.
I got back some of the power but feels like the Kompressor not kicking in.
Previously i could hear the kompressor kick in when i accelerated to about 3000 rev . Now there is nothing. Could the Kompressor be gone or the cluth
on the kompressor. How could i be sure.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi

Is the cat like the rear silencer ? Cause when i step on the accel. and release
it makes noise like something is loose in the box.

The Cat is situated just after the downpipes as it has to be hot to work. If you can hear a rattle under the car, if your lucky it is the heatshield if not it will be that the cat has broken up. This will equate to a loss of power and an inability to rev - similar to a MAS problem however you have changed that.
Have you had a diagnostic done to read out any fault codes.

tap the cat with some thing to see if it rattles, if it does then you will know that it your cat, or do what i done with my c class take to local exhaust place and get them to check it when its on the ramp get the guy to move with hand and see.... then take it where ever you want after to replace, of course remember to get a quote of the place you went too....

Loss Of Power

Thanks Raj

Just one more thing

Will this cause the Kompressor not to kick in ?

Also when travelling at 120km/h and if you are going up a steep incline the speed drops to about 100km/h . I used to be able to pick up speed on a incline.

the cat if blocked will definately slow your car down, the risk with driving with broken cat is that the back pressure sucks bits of broken cat into engine which at one point thought happened to mine, but that causes alot of damage.
I would suggest you get a diagnostics done on the car first and read the codes as this will point you in the right direction. personally that is first point of call, then look at the other stuff...

Not sure on the petrol engines, but on the diesel the cat has a fine mesh gauss at the inlet, which will prevent broken cat bits been sucked back into the engine/turbo.

Just noticed that the Kompressor (super charger ) is not kicking in.

What will be the cause of that ?
