Power loss

Hi,
Experiencing power loss on my 2001 clk 200k (manual, 86k miles). Happens in no particular sequence, just start up, hot or cold and power gone, feels like minus 50bhp (throughout entire range). No umph, like the kompressor is not working. The engine management light may come on after a few days but increasingly does not. When put on a code reader it has shown p0410 (Secondary air injection) p2036 (air flow is too low) also has shown 2015 s40/3 (clutch pedal switch fault) 2039-16 (recirculating air flap actuator (16) comparative error actual valve potentiometer). Whew!
Whenever we reset the system everything works perfectly, sometimes for a month, sometimes two weeks sometimes for a day.
To date with two mechanics have replaced, Air mass meter, secondary air valve, new platinum sparks and carbon filter. Starting to get expensive and no end in sight.
Seem to remember problem starting after reversing my exhaust into low wall causing it to drop off its bushings to ground. Mechanic (2) whacked it back in place and I wonder if that could have damaged something in there? Is that where the 02 (lambda) sensors are? Could it cause the kompressor to jam?
Reset the system again yesterday, again no dash light but read code po410 secondary air injection, air flow is too low p2036, reset and power back. Has recently shown code po244 Kompressor solenoid, which seems to point in the correct direction?
Any ideas?
Thanks

I had the same problem last summer, took it to Merc dealer, they changed two air inlet valves, one near the fuel distributor on the right hand side of the engine if you face the car and the other behind the engine. I was warned if you are not careful you may break the attachment to the rear air inlet valves. Funny things these valves are not attached to the filtered air.

Have a look at the MAF too, it may be contaminated, you can either clean it or some said you have to replace it.

Thanks for that, is the MAF not the same as the air mass meter? I have replace that (air mass meter) maybe it is faulty. Is replacing the two air inlet valves a big job?

By all means look at the MAF face,,if its oily, then this will can give your symptoms, oil can contaminate the MAF either from the turbo or the engine breathing pipes, also not sure if the cam sensor leak applies to your engine. If the MAF is oily then it will wash off and return to normal, but the reason needs to be found.

Do have a look at Jims post on this and maybe a MB techie will give an answer

Thanks for that Malcolm, have booked my mechanic for tmrw, will do as you suggested. We haven't gone near the MAF yet. Also just put a can of injector cleaner in as suggested by Jiminessex thread.

I have a clk 230 (2002) and I'm having the same problems. I first took my car to MB and they said it was a faulty Gear selector module (£545 for part) and then with further inspection of a MB specialist they said it was the secondary air flap which needed replaced (£622 for part). When faults where reset car runs great for a time. Anybody know where I can get a secondary air flap or can I recondition this one.
