Where can I find the recomended (or alternative) power steering fluid for my 2006 C350 W203 ?

Level looks low as it doesn't show on the PS reservoir dipstick when cold.
Need to get it done before Monday if possible and MB are closed now

M272 ?

I suggest Halfords is incorrect as they have been for decades with batteries etc .

CHF11S is the defining factor here and Pentosin used to have the patent for many years .

My information comes from the company that now haves that patent and is a specialist oil company .

So the "Comma MVCHF" from Halfords would fit the bill as it is a "CHF 11S" fluid ?

@Gazwould, you posted as I was typing :)

Off to Halfrauds in the morning then

EDIT: And in the space of an hour or so, its now suitable form my car !!!

@Gazwould, Dont suppose you know whether it's yellow or green ?
What's in there currently is yellow (dont know whether the colour actually matters or not)

I would wait till i could get the right fluid from Mercedes ..or order it from Benz of Newcastle, then the right fluid will be delivered to your door . Or top up with an aftermarket brand for now ,,then flush it all out , and fit new filter , and refill with recomend Benz fluid.

Not paying MB prices for a fluid when I can get exactly the same spec MB 345.0 elsewhere.
Siphoned out most of the resovoir and topped up to the "When Cold" ma rks with the Comma MVCHF as per @Gazwould.
Started car, moved steering from lock to lock half a dozen times to remove air bubbles and rechecked.
Went for a run and rechecked, now fluid is between the min and max "When Hot"
Will check again this evening when cold.
Job's a goodun !

Will probably siphon out half the resovoir and top up again next weekend to get more of the new fluid in.

I've got a very good idea who makes it for Mercedes but don't know how it compares for prices .

Good stuff. Its pretty easy to change ps fluid as you have seen.
You probably have enough left over to siphon again and refill.

Gazwould And yes there is just one . No need to get personal about it .. You can just go along with any old fluid till seals pack up ,looks as if it will be sorted buy picking up some other brake fluid.. Makes me think as to why people will buy expensive Mercedes cars , and then start useing other items because they are 2p cheaper . And then turn up later on here because there is a noise from pas pump .

Just changed the v belt, 2x idlers and the tensioner.
Got a quote from MB £225 including VAT.
Tensioner alone was £95 excluding VAT

I bought an INA branded replacement for £49:99 and guess what, the old one I took off was branded INA !
Car has been in the family from new so know the history and the tensioner has NOT been replaced before.
MB have to pay for their plush showrooms some how......
