Power Steering Issue

I have recently been getting a buzzing sound from the engine when I turn the steering wheel, & also a resonance on the steering wheel.
The local garage have had a look & said one the flexible steering pipes under the engine is leaking.
Is this a known issue on a 212 E350CDI, its not something I have come across before?

There are O rings in the steering hydraulics which deteriorate over time.
How often do you have to top up the steering fluid..?

Never had to top up the steering fluid, the leak is on the flexible hose. From the lack of response I must assume its not a common fault.
I will get it booked in with a local independent.

Took the car to WDM at Sutton Coldfield who replaced the leaking flexible hose at a cost of £460, I am sure MB would have been more expensive.
Very good service the car was fixed in 24 hours.
