Power steering motor

Hi
Had message come up yesterday. Power steering failure. Turned off and restarted ok but within 5 mins came back on so got recovered home. Recovery bloke plugged computer in and came up as “internal electrical fault In power steering motor”. I’m assuming a new/ second hand motor is needed but struggling to find one as not sure which one I need. Are they model specific or does one motor cover several models? Every single one on eBay has a different part number despite them looking the same. Also once fitted do they need programming or anything for the park assist? Trying to avoid excessive garage fees and have someone competent to fit but only once I’ve sourced the correct part.
Just to add that I had an essential journey to make this morning, only about 5 miles round trip and drove fine with no error message but assuming on a longer drive the fault would come back on?

I would put your issue to a MB independent specialist. They will find you the right part if needed and fit it. I'd assume (though not 100% certain) you'd need to replace the pump as likely any motor is integrated and available only as a complete part. Again not certain but an indie will know and possibly can source a used part too. Possibly also an intermittent fault if the car drove afterwards with no errors, so I would consider having it looked at by an indie. Honestly these guys know these cars very well.
