Hi,

Just trying to answer a question for a friend of mine.

He has a iveco daily lwb and the power steering is non existant at tickover making manouvering very difficult.

If he adds revs the steering is back to normal but when trying to stear when engine at idle it's as if there is no power steering.

Does anyone know of a solution to this

Fluid Level in power steering res is fine

Thanks for any advice

I'd second the possbility of a worn pump, or perhaps a sticking pressure limiter valve (if the pump has one). A leaky steering box valve could also be something of a hinderance but I would expect this to be apparent in the feel when driving as well as idle.

To test properly it you need a suitable pressure gauge and a flow rig, but first of all do check the drive is good as Roofless sugests.
